COME AND SEE  ©

There is an order underneath it all.
There is a mind behind the way.
Look around for just two minutes,
Look at the world we're living in,
Stars above and ground beneath us,
Everywhere the laws begin.
Gravity holds us to the pavement,
Earth keeps turning in its way,
Numbers speak before we name them,
Truth was here before today.
Two plus two was always four,
Before a human voice could say,
There is an Order underneath it all,
There is a Mind behind the way.
There is an Order, there is a Way,
There is a Law that will never change.
There is a Maker, there is a Mind,
The One who gave us breath and life.
But when I look into my heart,
I see the things I've done and said.
I cannot pay, I cannot hide,
I stand before the Judge instead.
Have I lied? Have I stolen?
Have I hated in my heart?
Have I chased my own ambition,
Turned from God and played my part?
Money, pleasure, pride and status,
Building kingdoms of our own,
While the One who gave us breathing
Waits for hearts to come back home.

When I measure my life against
His perfect law,
I cannot claim that I have won.
I have nothing left to offer,
I am bankrupt before the One.
There is an Order, there is a Way,
There is a Law that will never change.
There is a Maker, there is a Mind,
The One who gave us breath and life.
But when I look into my heart,
I see the things I've done and said.
I cannot pay, I cannot hide,
I stand before the Judge instead.

Until you know you're drowning,
You won't reach for the hand.
Until you see your bankruptcy,
You won't understand.
The doctor cannot heal you
If you say that you're alright.
The Savior makes no sense to us
Until we face the night.
But what we could not do,
God Himself came through.
Two thousand years ago,
He sent His Son for you.
Jesus lived the life we couldn't,
Perfect underneath the law.
Then He took our debt upon Him,
Paid the price we couldn't afford.

On the cross He bore our judgment,
Took the consequence we earned.
Then He rose up from the grave,
And death itself was overturned.
Now the debt is not our ending,
Mercy calls us by our name.
We can leave the road of darkness,
We can walk into the flame.
There is an Order, there is a Way,
There is a mercy for us today.
There is a Saviour, there is a King,
The One who makes the broken sing.
You don't have to carry your shame,
You don't have to live in fear.
Jesus Christ has paid the ransom,
And His peace is waiting here.

If you're weary, come and see.
If you're searching, come and see.
If you're carrying the weight,
If you need to know the truth,
Don't just walk away.

Come and see.
Come and see.
Come and see what God has done.
Come and see.

These lyrics are available for churches to sing and explore in their own musical language.
You do not need to reproduce one of the existing arrangements. Play it with a piano. Arrange it for your worship band. Sing it with a choir. Strip it back to an acoustic guitar. Or create something we have never imagined.
The fifteen recordings demonstrate where one set of words can travel.
Where they travel next is up to you.
